As someone who suffers from acne occasionally, I can tell you that I have scoured the four corners of the earth to find a product that would not only clear up my zits, but keep them at bay.

I was surprised to find that the product that has been working best for my skin was not sitting inside of a dermatologist’s office, but rather right inside Target.

So, without further ado, the face wash that I’ve been using to get my acne under control is none other than (drumroll) Clearasil. Yes, kittens, Clearasil!

I have ignored this product for years, thinking of it as nothing more than a cheap, product for high schoolers. I suppose seeing all of those teenage-focused ads gave me that impression. Boy, was I wrong.

An Incredible Drugstore Acne Treatment

The Clearasil Rapid Rescue Deep Treatment Wash retails for under $10 and delivered on its promise of results within 12 hours.

The face wash contains maximum strength salicylic acid to treat acne. I started with just one application per day and was surprised to see how quickly it started working.

I did find that the product was a bit drying, but not irritatingly so. It was also very expected given that it promised to start working within half a day. I remedied the dryness by applying one of my favourite moisturisers and making sure to drink plenty of water.

I have to be honest, I feel like a fool for ignoring this product for so long. I have battled acne on my forehead and chin area for years because I can’t seem to stop putting my hands on my face.

Even though I wash my hands regularly, I know that it is easy to get them dirty again.

  1. Beautiful, Rogan. I used Clearasil as a teenager. Now I need something to even tone without looking bleached out…can you search something and share, that is, if you have an issue with discolouration.

    1. Hey there, Lindsay. Thanks for reading. I never ever EVER considered using Clearasil. Not even when I was a teen, which is nuts. Now, I love it. I totally understand where you are coming from as it relates to wanting an even tone without the bleached out look. You definitely DON’T want that. On my YouTube channel, I highlighted three products that I used to get my dark spots under control. There was one that worked magic for me. I’m still using it to get rid of the remaining spots. Please visit my channel to see it. It’s YouTube.com/thisbahamiangyal.

  2. Wow…I’m going to try this. I use Neutrogena. I love the deep cleansing feel and smell. I actually never considered clearisil because I thought it was only for Caucasians. 🥴 Will report on the results.

    1. Hey there. I used to think it was just for teens. LOL. It’s an awesome product. Yes, please try it out and tell me how it worked out for you. I’d love to know.
