In an earlier post, I asked you to list some of your favourite cities to visit. One of my faves happens to be Annapolis in Maryland.

I love driving into Annapolis because it's the one place that reminds me of my home, The Bahamas 🇧🇸. That's because the downtown area has a ton of charming homes and businesses, it's on the waterfront, I get to see the boats, and there is always someone eating crabs 🦀.

Few people know this, but Annapolis was the first capital of the United States 🇺🇲.

Just walking the streets you get a sense of this city's rich history. The architecture is phenomenal and I love the amazing food options.

💫 What is your absolute favourite city to visit? I'll go first.

💫 There's just something about New York City that puts it at the top of my list. I'm a huge foodie and I absolutely love theatre. New York has so much to do and see. I love the whole vibe of the city, from the food carts on the side of the road to the dollar pizzas, to the museums, skyscrapers and fantastic shopping.

💫 I first fell in love with New York when my godfather flew me to the city on his plane. It was winter and I had never felt weather so cold in my life. I remember shivering and begging him to get into the warmth. We ended up in the cutest little diner that served the hottest and spiciest chili ever. That stands out at as my first memory of New York.

One of my absolute favourite things to do is to snap pictures of front doors. But, not just any front door, colourful front doors. There's something so inviting about walking through them. ⁠
⁠
Back home in The Bahamas, my front door was fire engine red ❤️. It gave my home such charm, such character. ⁠
⁠
The best part? It was easy to direct people to my house. They could find my home just by looking for the red door. ⁠
⁠
But my love of colourful doors didn't stop at the front. I painted my kitchen door pink and one of my bathroom doors lime green 💚. ⁠

While in Georgetown, DC, I found myself drawn to these colourful entrances. I can't wait to share more pics with you all. Do you all like colourful doors or do you prefer for it to be plain?⁠

💫The crazy thing is, I've always wondered where DC got its name. I recently learned that it was partly named after the explorer, Christopher Columbus. But, it goes even deeper than that. The federal city was named after George Washington. Yeah, THAT George Washington - the first president of the United States. ⁠

💫DC was also founded on July 16, 1790 and constitutionally established to serve as the US capital. And I happen to live here. Woo-hoo!⁠

⁉️ I constantly get questions in my inbox and email about life in Washington and I keep telling people to just go to my video. Not because I'm trying to get views (although, that's great, too🙃), but because it answers a lot of questions.

Creatives are some of the most special people on the planet. The crazy part is, we don't give creatives enough credit.

✍ When we read an article, a writer wrote it.

📷 When we salivate over breathtaking photos, a photographer took it.

🚘 When we hop in our car, remember that a designer designed it.

🎵🎷When we turn on the radio to listen to music, a musician created it.

🎬 When we watch a movie, trust that creatives were all over it.

The crazy part is, unless a creative is super rich and famous, we tend to ignore or underestimate them.

This is why I respect bloggers, vloggers, fashion designers, photographers, lettering artists, musicians, chefs, you name it. I love and respect creatives. End of story.
