Is the Anastasia Beauty Balm Skin Tint the next viral beauty product? Or is it all hype?
For months, I have been seeing TikTok influencers bragging about this serum-boosted product, so, I decided to give it a go.
I happen to love Anastasia Beverly Hills’ products, but have never tried their foundations or skin tints. My love affair with the brand stemmed from its excellent array of eyebrow products, and anyone who knows me, knows I love a good eyebrow.

Their lipsticks and glosses are also among some of my faves.
But, what about the Anastasia Beauty Balm Skin Tint? Does it live up to the hype?
What Types Of Foundations I Go For?
My beauty bag is filled to the brim with a wide variety of foundations, from Chanel’s Ultra Le Teint and Les Beiges to MAC’s Studio Radiance and Strobe Dewy Skin Tint to Too Faced’s Born This Way foundation – I love them all.
With the exception of Chanel’s Ultra Le Tint, which is typically more full coverage, I prefer to go for light, dewy coverage or something with a natural finish – basically anything that makes my skin look fresh and moisturised.
Sticky, heavy foundations that look and feel like I’m wearing a mask are a huge no-no.

All The Deets About The Anastasia Beauty Balm
At the time of writing this blog post, the Anastasia Beauty Balm Serum Boosted Skin Tint comes in 16 shades and retails for $42 at Ulta Beauty. I bought shade #12.
Anastasia says the skin tint is a “first-of-its-kind tinted solid serum-boosted formula that provides sheer-to-light coverage for glowy skin.
The product is not only vegan, but cruelty-free, and according to the beauty brand, each balm packs eight skin-loving ingredients inside that helps deliver a natural finish.
As someone who is a real skincare lover, that appealed to me. If my skin looks great, my makeup will, too.
The product comes in a slim white and tan roll-up stick packaging that resembles those deodorant sticks from the 1980s. I thought that was a bit different from the norm. But, it is very compact and easy to throw in a small purse. Ideal for touch-ups.

Your Skin, But Better?
I was eager to put this product to the test. At first, I wasn’t sure it would cover any dark marks, but it actually did.
I don’t have a lot of hyperpigmentation, just tiny spots, so it worked for me. If you have a lot of hyperpigmentation, I don’t think this will provide coverage. Remember, this is a skin tint -not full coverage.
While gliding the product on, it did seem to have a bit of a greasy slick that I found unsettling at first.
Several reviews had said that the balm was a bit heavy, and I totally understand that now.
How To Apply The Anastasia Beauty Balm?
However, I kept pressing on, applying the makeup directly from the stick. I did not use a brush at first.
Many beauty gurus recommend applying the product with the fingertips rather than a brush.
I ended up using a brush to buff out the skin tint, then I used a sponge to absorb any additional product.

What’s so wonderful about this product is that I don’t have to worry about spillage because it’s a solid stick.
Should it get super hot, it could melt and cause a mess, but right now, it’s so neat and convenient.
The Final Look Exceeded My Expectations
As I mentioned, the product felt a bit heavy, so I was already prepared to return the product to Ulta. However, as it started to settle on my face, I noticed the most natural, healthiest glow.
The final result was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

In fact, it didn’t even feel heavy anymore. I suppose it just felt that way during the application.
I concede that I may have also been a bit heavy-handed during the application process.
What I loved most – beyond the final look and feel – is that it didn’t budge. It didn’t transfer or anything.
I don’t sweat much, but I have found some foundations get a bit oily after a while and I have to keep dabbing to tackle the shine.
The finish on the Anastasia Beauty Balm was flawless and very natural.
TikTok For The Win
I’ve got to give it to the TikTok girlies, this beauty balm is a winner winner, chicken dinner.

I will be holding on to this product and swiping it on when I want to make quick runs or get ready for my YouTube videos.
I am not getting rid of my old faithfuls, not by a long shot, but this is another wonderful product to keep in my beauty arsenal.
XOXO,
This Bahamian Gyal
I spoke to someone about trying this. Was a bit skeptical because of all the other gimmicky products out there. Definitely want to try now!
Thank you so much for reading! Honestly, it’s a great little product. I was surprised because I typically think TikTok hypes things up a lot. But, this was worth the money.
