Okay, so you waited until the last minute to get your mom a Mother’s Day gift. It happens. Between work, errands and the fact that life be lifing, we have a tendency to forget about Mother’s Day until it creeps up like a ninja.
If you’re smart -and don’t want to be left out the will, you’re going to find something to give your mom.

Luckily, I have a list of some incredible Mother’s Day gifts she’ll really want. How do I know she’ll want them? Because I speak to moms every single day and these are some of the gifts they say they really want.
1. Hire A Maid As A Mother’s Day Gift
Moms work hard. Sometimes they need a break. So, give them one. If you’re in the financial position to do so, hire a maid to clean your mom’s house once a week or more, if you can afford it.
She’ll enjoy the break and watching someone else clean-up after the little or big ones for once.
There are maid-for-a-day services out there. Or, you can even contract someone to work long-term to help your mom out. It’s a gift she absolutely will not forget.
Also, it will instantly bump you up to favourite child status. Trust me on this.
2. A Spa Day With Lunch Is The Perfect Gift
Again, moms need a break – from everyone and everything.
Make her the focus by giving her a spa day.
Not only will a masseuse pamper her by giving her a massage and facial, which is especially helpful if she doesn’t have a skincare routine, but this will give her an opportunity to have someone else take care of her.
A TBG Tip: Find a spa that is far away from her home. You want her to feel like she is truly getting away from everyone. So, don’t select a spa near her home.
Also, fork over some cash for lunch at a chic restaurant. If the spa offers lunch, even better.
3. No Mother’s Day Gift Is Complete Without A Bottle Of Perfume
The moms I spoke to say you can never go wrong with a bottle of perfume.
Moms love updating their fragrances, so why not buy a fragrance that is not only sexy, but is a bit exclusive. I recently did a blog post on five timeless sexy fragrances that will make you unforgettable. It’s worth a read.
You can find most of these fragrances in Sephora, Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales.
4. Book A Vacation For Your Mom
Mother’s Day will come and go. But, if you want something that will be at the forefront of her mind in the weeks and months to come, book her a vacation. You can literally do this on your own on Expedia.

Try to pick her brain to see where she would like to go. Again, everyone works with a different budget, so don’t think that you have to send her on an international trip. Get creative and give her what she truly wants.
5. Give Her A Class For Mother’s Day
Has your mom ever told you that she wanted to learn how to make pasta from scratch, or learn how to sew, or learn how to make authentic Italian cuisine? Help her. Book her a class.
I know that I have readers from all over the world, so I can’t say exactly where you can find these classes. You will have to do some legwork here. But, if you are in the US, Sur La table offers a wide variety of cooking classes.
6. Head To Target For An Incredible Mother’s Day Gift
Please note that every Mother’s Day gift doesn’t have to be super expensive.
Target offers a wide range of gifts that any mother would be happy to receive. From the Nespresso Vertuo Plus (a Kim Kardashian fave) to this Keurig K-Supreme SMART Single-Serve Coffee Maker, your choices are limitless.
The megastore also has a wide variety of books, like You’re Going To Make It, which I read every day as part of my daily devotions and Sunday reset ritual. You can buy a stack of books and tie them together with twine for a creative, thoughtful gift.
If your mom is nuts about home decor and happens to be a fan of Joanna Gaines, then I would suggest heading to Target’s Hearth & Hand with Magnolia collection.
I have bought arched ladders, ceramic decorative vases, candles, metal tea tins and so many other wonderful items from this collection. Trust me, these all make great gifts and I would never recommend what I would never buy.
Threshold/Studio McGee also has some incredible vases like this Tall Ceramic Organic Ceramic Vase that I recently bought for my kitchen, But, I have also bought their tall wavy ceramic vases for friends. There are so many great gift options.

The Bottom Line: Last-Minute Doesn’t Mean Loveless
You may be out of time, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still buy a thoughtful gift. Flowers and gift cards are great, but I think the gifts that I presented are memorable.
Our moms literally gave us life. They were our portal into this beautiful world. Surely, we can take the time to find a wonderful gift for her that she will never forget.
In addition to a lovely gift, please don’t forget to buy your mom a greeting card. Nothing says I love you more than your words spilled into a card.
Before I go, I want to wish Happy Mother’s Day to all of my wonderful readers who are moms – be it biological, adoptive, surrogate, godmothers or just moms by love. You all deserve to be celebrated. And here at TBG (This Bahamian Gyal), we love all of you.
