Make a statement this fall and winter without breaking the bank. I’ve put together a list of some of the best fall and winter puffer vests under $50.
Fall and winter weather can be a bit unpredictable depending on where you live. Here in Washington DC, it can be 73 degrees one day, then 45 degrees the next. And contrary to popular belief, not everyone wants to wear a heavy jacket just to keep warm.
Luckily, there are options. Before relocating to the states, I never gave puffer vests and jackets a second glance. I thought they were too poofy and would make me look like the marshmallow man.
But, it all just depends on how you style it. What I love about these vests is that they can be layered to give you a warm, cozy feeling. And if they’re lightweight enough, you can wear them to go jogging on brisk mornings. They also transition well into the spring months.
Old Navy Has Affordable Puffer Vests
If you’re looking for affordable puffer vests, look no further than Old Navy.
I recently shopped in the store and found two puffer vests for $20 each. They typically retail for $34.99, but I caught their in-store sale.
The first was a grey quilted vest with a high collar. I typically seek out vests and jackets with hoods, but because this collar had a decent height on it, I didn’t mind. It kept my neck super warm.
The second vest was a dusted chocolate colour. I initially wanted to buy a white vest, but this colour was so divine, I had to have it. Surprisingly, the online price was slightly higher. So, it’s cheaper to buy it in store.
My Affordable Clothing Store Trifecta: Ross, Marshalls & TJ Maxx
I have said it a million times and I will say it again. You simply cannot beat Ross, Marshalls and TJ Maxx for great clothing at an affordable price point.
I used to turn up my nose at those stores until I realised that I was foolishly paying more money for the same clothes that designer stores and malls were selling.
I found this black lightweight Avalanche puffer vest in TJ Maxx for $19.99. Now, I will say that this jacket requires layering. You will not survive wearing this alone in 40 degree weather. But, in 60 degree weather, it’s perfect.
I also stopped into Ross and picked up this POLO Assn pink puffer vest. The cost: $20.
What I loved about this vest is how light it was. It was also incredibly stylish in person and fit perfectly. It features snap buttons and a zipper.
It didn’t make me look as bulky as the Old Navy jacket made me look. But, it definitely needed to be layered to provide warmth.
I also picked up a Calvin Klein pink puffer jacket from Marshalls for $49.99.
Despite its lightweight feel and appearance, this jacket was super warm and cozy. I love that it has a hood and even though it’s not a raincoat, it protected me from a light rain.
In my latest YouTube video, I model some of the puffer vests and coats I bought. Click the link down below, and don’t forget to subscribe to my channel.
