It’s literally the glow-up I never knew I needed, and I am absolutely obsessed.
In the interest of transparency, I was never a fan of shimmery body oils.
I mean, who deliberately tries to look like a glittery oil slick? But, after trying the Anastasia Shimmer Body Oil, I realised that I was just using the wrong oils.
I’ve sampled many shimmery oils in the past and been hugely disappointed.
Either they were too thick and gloopy, made me look like a 1970s disco ball (not cute) or just smelled awful. I’m very sensitive to smells, so if a product smells off, I’m not wearing it.
However, Anastasia’s body oil was nothing like that.
First Impressions: Shimmer, Shine, Slay.
Let’s talk about the packaging. Sorry to admit this, but when it comes to beauty products, I do judge a book – ahem – body oil – by its packaging.
The shimmer body oil comes in a white package with a peach and gold cover. It’s a very simple design, but gives me a summer vibe.
As for the oil, it comes in a sleek, weighty square glass bottle that feels luxe, and yet somewhat like a vintage apothecary bottle.
Once you shake the bottle, the shimmery magic begins, producing an eye-catching golden liquid with micro-fine shimmer. It looks glowy – like a sunset in The Bahamas type of glowy.
Scent Check – What Does The Anastasia Shimmer Body Oil Smell Like?
The body oil smells like a vacation in a bottle. It has a soft, beachy smell. I smell hints of coconut and vanilla. But, it’s not saccharine. It’s gentle, not overpowering.
Smells are subjective, so what I love, another person might hate. But, this body oil is perfect to me.
The best part is, it doesn’t clash with my fragrances. In fact, it compliments it, if anything, giving it a soft layered smell.
Application & Feel
The product is incredibly silky, non-greasy and absorbs quickly.
The nozzle lets off a fine mist spray. As a result, I was able to give off a few evenly sprayed spritzes to my collarbone and shoulders and immediately felt like a golden goddess.
What I especially loved is that the body oil didn’t transfer to my clothing and was very easy to remove.
The day I applied the oil, I had forgotten that I was scheduled to have a mammogram the following day.
If you know anything about mammograms, you can’t have any lotion, glitter, powder – nothing on your breasts. I panicked. But, after a showered, all but one single speck was gone. Impressive.
Price & Value
The Anastasia Shimmer Body Oil retails for $38 USD. It ain’t cheap. I wish it were. But, I will say it’s worth it.
I have tried other drugstore brands that less expensive and the finish is always off. It’s either too oily or too glittery.
I also love that the body oil doesn’t transfer to my clothes.
The Final Verdict Of The Anastasia Shimmer Body Oil
The Anastasia Shimmer Body Oil is glow goals. It smells incredible, makes your skin look more supple, healthier and more radiant. After applying it, I felt like I had just gotten done with a magazine photoshoot.
With summer right around the corner, I will be wearing this with my cropped tops and sundresses to give me a healthy, golden glow.
I don’t regret my purchase and this will definitely be a mainstay in my beauty bag. I have been adding a lot of Anastasia products to my arsenal lately.
If you’re on the fence about this purchase, don’t be. You won’t regret it.

It sounds wonderful, but at THAT price, I won’t be purchasing it. Now if someone wants to gift me a bottle, fine with me.
I can get behind a lot of products, expensive or not, but it’s a NOT for this oil, due to the price. And I don’t think I’d use it often.
