If you’ve seen one jumbo braid ponytail you’ve pretty much seen them all, which is why it’s important to switch up the style every now and then. Enter unicorn hair.
I’d be lying if I told you that I’d always been a fan of the pastel-coloured hair. In all honesty, I thought the colour looked a bit tacky and would make me look (gulp) ghetto.
If that’s the case, I will proudly embrace my ghetto side because I am in love with these colours.

How Hard Was It To Install The Jumbo Braid Ponytail?
Firstly, I bought this hair from a local beauty supplies store for about $7 for the pack. Just thought I’d get that out of the way because this is a very budget-friendly style.
The hardest thing about this style was getting my 4c hair sleek in a sleek bun. Other than that, this jumbo braid ponytail was super easy to install.
You literally just need two packs of the pastel kanekalon braiding hair and the ability to do a three-strand plait.

Also, I used edge control to slick my hair down. I didn’t want to use gel because my hair was already in a stretched style and I knew that my hair would start to curl with the gel. That’s the life of 4c hair.
Once I had my hair in a ponytail, I took some wrapping paper – you know, the kind you find at the salons – and tied my hair down so that it could lay flat.
In fact, I left my hair tied for about half an hour and used that time to plait my braiding hair. The hair comes with a nicely knotted rubber band that I ultimately used to attach the braid to my hair.

You will also need a few hair pins to secure the jumbo braid once it’s on your head. And that’s it.
I am in love with the way this braid looks. In my opinion, it’s one of the best jumbo braid ponytails of 2020.
I’m now curious about how other colours will look. I can’t wait to try them out.
XOXO,
This Bahamian Gyal
