If you’re looking for affordable drugstore lipsticks for black skin, look no further than the Milani Amore Satin Matte lip creme.
This was only my second time buying Milani cosmetics. Years ago, a Sephora saleswoman sold me a beautiful purple lipstick that I still have to this day (is that bad?). However, since then, I have largely ignored this brand.
But, this time – because I was bored of purchasing the usual suspects, I decided to give Milani a go once again.
I’d be lying if I told you that the sleek gold packaging didn’t call out to me as I walked by.
I purchased two lipsticks – Amore Satin Matte in Fancy (03) and Plush (04).
Both lip cremes are pink. Fancy is a softer pink that can almost resemble peach. It’s slightly darker than a ballet slipper pink, but is equally as beautiful.
Meanwhile, Plush has a pinkish-purplish hue. Both are amazing in person.
How Does It Feel?
The consistency is a bit runny, which I did not like. So, after using the applicator to apply this creme, I found myself using my fingers to pat the product on my lips.
It’s also important that you line your lips so that they look more defined. Without a liner, it could look at bit messy.
I ended up adding a gloss as a top coat just to make the product pop. I know it’s supposed to be worn with a matte finish, but I found it looked better with a gloss. Other people agreed.
The lip creme wasn’t dry, but it wasn’t moisturising either. It was in the middle.
The Milani Amore Satin Matte lip cremes cost around $7 each, which is far less than other expensive brands. The packaging felt luxe and was easy to open.
I love that there is a lot of product in each container. Each tube has 0.22 oz/6.6 ml. So, I know that they will last a long time.
I did a full review on my YouTube page. I have included the video down below. Be sure to watch it to see how the final looks turned out.
