I don’t typically like people all up in my space, but when my fairy blogmother, Ianthia Ferguson comes a-calling, I answer.
Ianthia does it all. Not only is she a blogger, influencer, international magazine writer and all around stylish diva, she also hosts her own YouTube channels. I don’t know where she finds the time or energy. I’m exhausted just writing all of that.
She recently invited me to appear on her YouTube show, Personal Space.
Several weeks ago, I appeared as a guest on her other show, The Rising Sun Morning Show. We had so much fun that she invited me to join her on her internet show. I have watched it a number of times and she always profiles interesting people who have great insight to share. So, it was a no-brainer.
She asked me if I had any suggestions for where we should film. I had one request – that it be vibrant because I love colour. And she delivered.
We headed to West Hill Street, a corner that is famous for housing the legendary Graycliff Hotel. The entire street is colourful. What we didn’t anticipate were the grey clouds and the heavy downpour that followed. Needless to say, we’re troopers, so we kept filming right through that rain.
We talked about our time in the media business, why we decided to move on, what blogging has been like and how we deal with the haters who just don’t understand what we do.
Because we’re huge pop culture junkies, naturally we had to talk about the hot topics, like Wendy Williams and R. Kelly.
Every time I film with Ianthia it feels so natural. I suppose it’s because we know each other, plus we have similar interests. But, it makes for excellent TV.
