I know many of you are heading into work this morning to be with people you don’t like and jobs you hate. You daydream about being somewhere else, anywhere else but where you are right now. Trust me, I’ve been there.
But, you have to learn to trust the process. If God has you there, it’s because there is something He still needs you to learn.
It may not seem like it in the moment when you’re dealing with sour attitudes from your colleagues or a bitter supervisor, but you are there for a reason.
I’m a firm believer that nothing you learn on a job will be wasted.
I remember having tons of tasks thrown my way, not fully understanding why I was doing them in the moment. Many of those tasks were hard and time consuming. But, now I understand that it was all training – preparation for what I’m doing right now.
When you move into the next chapter of your professional life, you will remember many of those things you had to do and be grateful for having had the experience. When you become your own boss (notice I didn’t say if) you’ll know what not to do and how not to treat your staff.
As you head in today, look at the job differently. Learn and do everything you’re supposed to do. Remember, if that’s not where you are supposed to be, God will move you. But, you’d better be prepared for just how He moves you. Sometimes, it ain’t pretty.
Nothing that you do and nothing that you experience will be wasted. Happy Monday!
