Hi, my name is Rogan. I’m an island gyal turned city girl who loves to travel. On my blog, I share tips on the best places to visit and the most interesting things to do and see. I’m originally from Nassau, Bahamas where I was born and raised, so, I really am a Bahamian gyal. I now live in Washington, DC.
I started my blog, This Bahamian Gyal in December 2017, initially as a vehicle to share my life, talent and creativity with the world.
Since then, it has evolved into a real travel resource for travelers who not only want honest travel advice, but want to feel like they have their own personal tour guide to the cities they’ve either dreamt of visiting or are getting ready to visit.
I also share blogging and social media tips, as well as lifestyle content.
Before I was a blogger, I worked as a radio talk show host, writer and PR/marketing exec, all at the same time.
When I first started blogging, it was still relatively new in The Bahamas and I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. But, This Bahamian Gyal gave me the freedom to explore topics I didn’t get to delve into while working as a newspaper writer.
