The Bahamas has no shortage of breathtaking hotels and resorts. So if you’re looking for the perfect place to stay on your vacation, you’ll want to consider these 10 best hotels in The Bahamas.
From stylish boutique hotels to full blown mega resorts, The Bahamas has it all. Many of these properties overlook The Bahamas’ gorgeous and much-talked about waters.
Here’s where you’ll want to stay if you’re visiting the land of 700 islands.
1. The One & Only Ocean Club
This Paradise Island property has become a luxury playground for celebrities. This is where they stay when they want to experience the best The Bahamas has to offer without throngs of people harassing them for autographs and selfies. The Balinese style villas sit on some of the most impeccable grounds you’ll ever lay your eyes on. The hotel also sports breathtaking ocean views. The cost to stay here ain’t cheap. So, bring every credit card you have.
2. Kahari Resort
If you’ve ever wanted to feel like you have an entire island to yourself, then you’ll want to stay at Kahari Resort on Stocking Island, Exuma. It’s a true island getaway.
I stayed here for my birthday several years ago and it was a true paradise. The tranquil resort features 12 waterfront rooms nestled in six bungalows, handcrafted king-sized beds and secluded beaches.
There’s a five-minute boat ride to the island, which sets the tone for your stay at the resort.
The boutique resort is also eco-friendly and the managers do a great job keeping the property in pristine condition.
3. Baha Mar, Rosewood
This five-star resort screams luxury. It’s chic, posh and decadent. The hotel is located in the western portion of New Providence in the Cable Beach district. The hotel boasts 237 guest rooms, suites and beachfront villas and offers private beach access with full-service pools.
Besides its gorgeous suites, it also features some of the most amazing restaurants in the country, and the region. So, foodies will have tons of options.
Rosewood is an elegant retreat for travellers with a refined sensibility.
4. The Island House
The Island House is New Providence’s premier boutique hotel. It’s hands down one of my all-time favourites. It’s located in the western tip of the island and features 30 rooms and suites, exclusive private beach access, six rental apartments, two restaurants, a cafe, wine market, lap pool and art house cinema to name a few.
The hotel lives up to its name with its lush vegetation and gorgeous trees.
You will feel like you’re in your own private world.
5. A Stone’s Throw Away
This hotel has the right name as it’s just five minutes away from New Providence’s main airport. It’s also the closest hotel that we’ve got to an old traditional Bahamian home with its wood floors, wood ceilings and wraparound porches.
This boutique hotel with its eight rooms and two suites can only accommodate 20 guests, but it has one of the highest elevations in the west. It also boasts some gorgeous panoramic views.
6. The Cove, Atlantis
The Cove is Atlantis’ grown and sexy hotel. So, if you’re not grown or sexy, this is not the place for you.
From its sleek, modern entryway to its gorgeous pools, to its two private beaches, you’ll find the seclusion you’re looking for.
The Cove features 600 luxury suites with French or full balconies. It’s the perfect romantic getaway. There’s also an adults-only pool.
7. Baha Mar, SLS
If you’ve ever wanted to feel like you’re in an Instagram feed, visit SLS. It’s that gorgeous. It’s also the place you go to party with the beautiful people. This hotel features two outdoor pools and feels like a tropical sanctuary.
Anyone who enjoys the best-of-the-best will want to stay here thanks to its incredible service and world-class amenities.
The hotels’ 299 rooms include Bahamian-designed furniture, walk-in rainfall showers, plush SLS signature robes and slippers and full in-room technology. So, if you’re a businessperson who wants to have fun in paradise, but wants to stay connected to your office back home, this is the place for you.
8. The Royal At Atlantis
Of all of Atlantis’ properties, this hotel is the most iconic, thanks to its super expensive bridge suite. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, famously stayed there and paid a pretty penny to do so.
Guests who stay at The Royal get some of the best views of the property, from Dolphin Cay to the resort’s Aquaventure theme park, to the beautiful ocean views. It’s hard not to feel like royalty in this place, especially considering there’s a gigantic throne in the hotel.
If you decide to stay here, be sure to take plenty of photos for your Instagram feed.
9. Hilton Hotel
Ok, ok. So, I’ll be the first to admit that the Hilton in Nassau is pretty bare-bones compared to a lot of resorts on this list. There aren’t any fancy slides or waterparks, but what it does have going for it is location, location, location.
The Hilton is a business hotel, so lots of travellers who want easy access to the western and eastern portion of the island come here. The facilities are clean and standard and the hotel itself is pretty popular for business conferences and weddings.
Travellers who want to stay right in the middle of the action and feel the excitement of being downtown would be wise to stay here.
10. Sandals Emerald Bay
This all-inclusive gem is located in Exuma and is perfect for vacationers looking for exotic luxury.
This is where couples go to tie the knot or to honeymoon, and for good reason. It’s gorgeous. The resort, which is for couples only, features three pools, 11 eateries and a beautiful 19-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman.
It also overlooks the water and if you’ve been following my blog, you’d know that I think Exuma has the best water in The Bahamas.
